Free job-profit calculator

Are you undercharging?

Put your job costs beside your proposed price. See the estimate as you enter your numbers—no account or email required.

Your price and target

Use the price you plan to quote and the margin you want to keep.

The amount you plan to charge, before any sales tax.

Enter a percentage from 0% to less than 100%.

Labor

Labor is workers × hours per worker × hourly labor cost. Burden is applied to that labor amount.

Your added labor burden percentage; leave blank if not used.

Other job costs

Enter your estimated cost for this job in each category.

Blank cost fields count as $0.00. Enter your own costs; no rates are prefilled. Sales tax is separate from estimated profit.

Margin and markup are different

Margin is estimated profit divided by selling price. Markup is estimated profit divided by costs. This calculator uses margin for the target price: estimated costs ÷ (1 − target margin). A 20% margin is not the same as a 20% markup.
